A warm welcome to our First-Year Pharmacy StudentsDear First-Year Pharmacy Students, Congratulations on starting your journey at the UQ School of Pharmacy! This is the beginning of an exciting chapter, and we’re so happy to welcome you into our community. Over the next few years, you’ll gain invaluable knowledge, build lifelong friendships, and develop the skills you need for a bright future in pharmacy. My name is Nhi, and I have the privilege of serving as the President of the Queensland Pharmacy Students’ Association (QPSA). Like many of you, I started my journey at UQ feeling a mix of excitement and uncertainty, but I quickly realised that this is a place where you can truly thrive. The opportunities that UQ and QPSA provide have been instrumental in shaping my personal and professional development, and I’m confident they will do the same for you. For those unfamiliar, the QPSA is a non-profit organisation run by pharmacy students, for pharmacy students. Our mission is simple: to ensure you have the best student experience possible. We achieve this by hosting educational events, industry networking opportunities, and unforgettable social events—our annual Pharmacy Ball is always a highlight! We also collaborate closely with the UQ School of Pharmacy to enhance your journey, offering resources like placement shirts, textbook discounts, and of course, some amazing QPSA merchandise. No matter what you’re looking for—whether it’s connecting with the pharmacy industry, attending fun social events with your peers, or simply sporting some QPSA merch—we’re here for you. This is your journey, and we want to make it as enriching and enjoyable as possible. On behalf of the entire QPSA executive team, I wish you the very best for your first year at UQ. We are so excited to meet you, support you, and see all the incredible things you’ll achieve in the years ahead. Here’s to an amazing start to your pharmacy journey! Nhi Pham, QPSA President 2025
