Hi there! My name is Grace Quach (she/her), and I am incredibly honoured and thrilled to be QPSA’s President for 2022. I am an incoming fourth-year Pharmacy Student at the University of Queensland, and I am excited to see what 2022 has in store. In my previous term as the publications chair, I’ve come to love being a part of a team that advocates for Pharmacy students. I loved contributing towards bettering student experiences through social, educational, and networking events, as well as being able to communicate students’ needs to the University staff. I’m excited to continue the amazing work of our previous executives and to continue the expansion of QPSA As pharmacy students, especially during a pandemic, we are in such a great position to learn new things, improve our communication skills, and educate patients and the community. QPSA has allowed me to improve my leadership, networking, and communication skills and I’m excited to continue that growth. In my role as President, I am responsible for leading and driving this association in a way that continues to enhance the UQ pharmacy community. I coordinate with each member of our committee to ensure that we are continually providing students with the best events and advocating for the best student experiences, socially and academically. Outside of QPSA and study, I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, driving to find pretty sunsets or the closest KFC, and, of course, napping. I’m so excited for the year and I hope to meet you all at our events throughout the year. If you ever see me at the PACE campus, please come say hi!
Jessica Heald, Secretary
Hey everyone! My name is Jess (she/her), and I am honoured to be your QPSA Secretary for 2022! Pharmacy has proved to be such an enriching and positive experience for me, which has fostered my passion to share this experience with all of you through QPSA. Through participating in QPSA over my years at UQ, I have not only enjoyed some incredible events, but also made professional connections and some wonderful friends. It has also allowed me to get involved in my pharmacy community, and I encourage you to do the same! In my spare time, which is admittedly rare, I enjoy travel, exploring hidden gems in my city, and reading. If you see me around PACE, you will most likely find me drinking a Chai Latte! My previous role as Pharmacy Awareness Representative allowed me to connect and support my community which is an objective I hope to continue in my new role. As secretary, I am responsible for general administration, sponsorships, and the governance of our QPSA memberships. I also get to work with my executive team to bring you a number of events throughout the year. Additionally, I handle most of our enquiries for all things QPSA so feel free to contact me with any QPSA-related queries, or comments at secretary@qpsa.com.au or via the ‘Contact Us’ panel on the home page! This year, QPSA will be working hard to bring you another successful year! Most importantly, I can't wait to connect with my QPSA community, which of course is you! Always feel free to reach out and say hello!
Zain Langah, Treasurer
Hello! My name is Zain and I am honoured to be QPSA's Treasurer for the 2022 term. I am a Fourth Year Student here at the School of Pharmacy doing a Major in Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics. I generally work behind the scenes and manage QPSA's accounts and other financial matters including organising funding for all of our great social events and merchandise that is planned by the committee in which I previously worked as a Merchandise Representative. Outside of QPSA I am a huge fan of Rock and Metal music (the heavier the better), you will often see me around PACE wearing a shirt from one of my favourite bands and am always ready to talk music. I am also in a band myself as a Bass player. I enjoy my sports as well being a fan of Formula One Racing, West Ham United and the New York Knicks. I am sure that 2022 will be a great year, and I am looking forward to playing my part to promote Pharmacy at UQ and beyond by building upon what my predecessors have already done for this wonderful organisation. QPSA has provided me with so many great opportunities and I am sure it will for you as well! If you have any questions relating to financials or otherwise, feel free to contact me at treasurer@qpsa.com.au or conversely come up and strike a conversation with me if you see me around the place!
Emily Ryan, Internal Communications
Hi all! My name is Emily and I am delighted and honoured to be Internal Communications for 2022. I am a fourth-year student and have an immense passion for pharmacy and love having a positive impact on the pharmacy profession. I have been involved in QPSA since my second year and have been both a Year Level Representative and Pharmacy Awareness Representative during that time. I am grateful for how much QPSA has allowed me to grow and the opportunities it has afforded me. It is helped me to make lifelong friends who share my love of all things pharmacy. In my role as Internal Communications, I liaise with our wonderful committee to work behind the scenes to help with events and initiatives. I am also responsible for the running of the QPSA website. I am excited for an excellent year ahead and look forward to some amazing events! If you ever see me around PACE don’t hesitate to say hi!
