Hi! My name is Jess (she/her) and I am honoured to be your QPSA President for 2023. This year I will be completing the final year of my Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours), and what a journey it has been! Some of my QPSA career highlights have been trips to NAPSA Congress in Newcastle and Canberra, heading down to the Gold Coast for APP Conference, and witnessing real change at our campus after feedback sessions with the university. Pharmacy has proven to be such an enriching experience for me, and I look forward to sharing these opportunities with all of you. As your QPSA President, I am responsible for the management of our organisation. A day in my life could include meeting with sponsors, liaising with the national team (NAPSA), working with our talented committee to bring you the very best events, or a myriad of other things. If there is one constant in my day to day, it is a heap of emails! My favourite thing about my role is the people, so please come and say hello if you see me around PACE – I am always easy to spot as the tall blonde who will most likely be drinking an iced caramel latte. I am looking forward to another sensational year for QPSA. Sincerely, Jessica Heald
Isabella Bautista, Secretary
Hello! I’m Isa (she/her), and I am the Secretary for 2023! I'm responsible for general administration, sponsorships, and the governance of our QPSA memberships. If you have any queries or concerns about our association, I am your go-to girl so feel free to reach out at @secretary@qpsa.com.au or via the ‘Contact Us’ panel on our website home page! I've been part of QPSA since my first year, and my favourite events that you should be sure to be around for include our annual Scrub Crawl and Pharmacy Ball. Whenever I’m not studying or working, I’m out on the hockey fields, reading in bed, painting or drawing, or attempting to learn how to play another instrument. If you see me around uni, please come and say hi!
Max Thompson, Treasurer
Hello everyone, my name is Max and I will be the treasurer of QPSA in 2023. I am looking forward to what 2023 brings to the table and am very excited to meet new people in the new year. I’ll be mostly working behind the scenes, but if you do see me around don’t hesitate to come up and have a chat.
Outside QPSA you’ll usually find me buried in a textbook at PACE, during the semester. I am also a fan of many different sports, especially athletics, football, boxing and MMA. I enjoy keeping as active as possible, so you may see me running along the river most evenings. I also enjoy playing basketball and football with my friends whenever I can.
QPSA to me is a gateway of resources, knowledge and connection to peers and the industry. My goal for 2023 is to get as many students immersed in the culture of pharmacy, through QPSA, as I believe that QPSA provides the pathway to making connections that helps students with their studies, as well as their futures as pharmacists. As connection is in integral component of the pharmacy profession, I believe that QPSA provides the framework and the solid foundation for this for pharmacy students. As a fourth year student, I encourage everyone to come a long to our events (even if it is only for a short time), as this is something that I regret in my early years of pharmacy.
In 2023 I look forward meeting and seeing you all. Hope you all enjoy your deserved holidays. Have a Merry Christmas and happy new year!!
Ben Chuc, Internal Communications
Hello! I’m Ben, and I am the Internal Communications executive for 2023! I’m mainly behind the scenes making sure everything within the committee runs smoothly, but you will definitely see me out and about at PACE. If you need anything organised or want to spread the word, I'm your guy! If you want to get in touch, email me at internalcommunications@qpsa.com.au, or find the Contact Us section on this website. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
In my spare time, I love hanging with mates, watching movies, gymming, eating food and the occasional party. I practically live in Sunnybank market square, so you will probably see me there having a feast. I enjoy meeting new people so always feel free to have a chat with me where ever you see me!
